Pride Dog Training does all the training for you, just keep it up at home. With multiple trainers on staff, Pride makes sure dogs get the attention and time they deserve. We do not allow more then 2 dogs per trainer to make sure your dogs get the consistency they need to achieve the most success in our program. Each dog gets 8 to 10 hours of training a day, working on the issues that you want worked on. About 5 of those hours we are working on obedience. Obedience is very important when working on behavioral issues. If your dog wont listen or respect you, he/she wont care if your mad they chewed up your shoes or dug up your yard. The additional 4 hours or so we work on behavioral issues. Chewing, digging and barking are the main culprits when it comes to behavioral issues, but we also work on nipping, jumping, separation anxiety, any form of aggression (dog, people, etc.) and setting boundaries for your dog to follow at home. The rest of the time your dog is out and about playing and having a normal everyday life. We are in a home, promoting a lifelike active learning environment were your dog becomes part of our “family“. The dogs are still exposed to everyday stimulation. Cooking meals, washing dishes, ringing door bells and children playing outside are common and encouraged distractions. Some dogs sleep in kennels at night, but the sleeping arrangement vary case by case. Running around in the backyard, laying in front of the sliding glass door soaking up the sun, and if its hot outside, running in the sprinklers are common daily activities of camp attendees. All dogs have 24 hour supervision and training, because in real life commands aren't just given during business hours. If your dog is up, we will work them. At the end of your dog’s stay with us you will have a “Parent/Teacher Day” where you will spend 2-3 hours working one on one with a trainer. Your trainer will teach you all the commands and the proper way to reinforce them at home. When we are almost done we will take your dog to the dog parks or beaches with you, to make sure your first excursion out with your newly trained dog is a positive one.
